9/11 Newsmedia Failure

Investigative reporting used to be a respected business and an American art form, but now it seems that the traditional newsmedia is either part of an active cover-up of 9/11, or they have just become too simple to be taken seriously at all. In either case, the American newsmedia has abrogated its responsibility in a dreadful way. Have they really become so incompetent, or do they answer to some corporate master who has successfully squelched their impartiality?

Whatever happened to the truth? With buildings of the World Trade Center - three in all - being destroyed in 2001 by demolition charges, where was the newsmedia? That’s right; they were covering the cover story that the government and the 9/11 Commission wanted us to believe! The government would like us to believe that two of the three buildings were destroyed by airliners hijacked by crazed terrorists, but as time goes on that seems ever less likely. What are we to believe; the government cover story that has not held up since day one?

Clearly, to most Americans, if not the American newsmedia, something happened on 9/11 that was aided and abetted by Americans, or caused by Americans. These super patriots wanted to cause a Pearl-Harbor type event to get us into the Global War on Terror, the invasion of Afghanistan, and the invasion of Iraq. They succeeded!

Now, in addition to the 3000 dead on 9/11, Americans get to welcome home the 2800 bodies of our young men and the tens of thousands of the maimed-for-life who accompany them. No strategic goals have been achieved unless one considers the over-through of a pitiful, though diabolical Saddam Hussein a strategic goal. But there are now plenty of killers to take his place who probably would have been terrorists irrespective of Hussein; afterall, the West is such an evil place.

And what does the American newsmedia continue to do? They like to cover the “low-hanging fruit” stories - the easy ones presenting no challenge to them; the ones like Katrina, Iraq, and JonBenet’s notoriety-seeking confessed killer; stories that require no intelligence to report, but if you keep saying the same thing over-and-over again, then it almost becomes reality, almost. These information regurgitators have come to personify the axiom that, “talk is cheap.” Anything to keep their brain-dead audiences watching and their advertising sponsors writing those ever-so-important checks.

Where are the Woodwards and Bernsteins of yesteryear? Whatever happened to investigative journalism? Is it now defunct in American journalism? Has the fourth estate sold-out to corporate interests and government acquiesce ?

The death and destruction on 9/11 and subsequent cover-up by the U.S. government are the story of the century! Where are good reporters when you need them!

Any journalist taking up this challenge to cover this story needs to proceed in a highly organized, rational manner. They need to collect the scientific and engineering facts first. They must not allow themselves to become sidetracked by conspiratorial theorists who see a conspiracy around ever corner and are but one Thorazine away from commitment, again, anyway. And there are plenty of them out there. The journalist must ferret his way through them to get to the truth. The truth is out there and it is based on hard, physical science, not suppositions, not hyperbole, and not guessing. At least two journalists should head up the team; one a people-person and the other one with a science, engineering, or math background, would be ideal. They must have access to scientists, engineers, and forensic specialists if their research is to matter.

We should never hear a journalist say, “There are lots of questions surrounding.....” because that only means one thing; he is either too stupid or lazy to do any research and, therefore, does not know what he is talking about.

Is there no journalist with the intellect or courage who will probe, investigate, and then present his facts and conclusions to the American people about what really happened on 9/11? Of course, doing so is dangerous business; probably more dangerous than being in a war zone because of the risk of suddenly having an “accident” caused by the black operations personnel who planned and executed 9/11.

Yes, the risk is great, but so is the journalistic glory; think Pulitzer for certain, and who knows, perhaps even a Nobel Peace Prize. But if is simply a matter of paltry journalistic intellect, then there is probably nothing that can be done about that except, oh yes, continue to watch reality TV and “professional wrestling.”

Are there any investigative journalists who are up for a challenge like this? We will see.
