BUSH RANTS ABOUT IRAQ

“COLOMBIA’S PRESIDENT MEETS BUSH

“U.S. President Bush met with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe Velez at the Bush ranch near Crawford, Texas on Thursday, August 4, 2005.”

After a talk about democracy in Colombia, Bush was asked about the status of his Iraq war. For dramatic effect the President’s standard ranting is capitalized, while my comments are not.

REPORTER Q: THANKS, SIR. AL QAEDA’S NUMBER TWO, DR. AL-ZAWAHIRI, IS WARNING THAT ATTACKS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL U.S. TROOPS LEAVE IRAQ. HOW SERIOUS A THREAT IS THIS? AND AFTER SO MANY MARINES WERE KILLED THIS WEEK, WHAT’S BEING DONE TO IMPROVE THEIR SAFETY?

PRESIDENT BUSH: FIRST, LET ME SAY THAT WE MOURN THE LOSS OF EVERY FALLEN TROOP. AND THE COMMUNITY OUTSIDE OF CLEVELAND, BROOK PARK, OHIO, SUFFERED MIGHTILY OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS. IT’S — THE PEOPLE OF BROOK PARK AND THE FAMILY MEMBERS OF THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIFE, I HOPE THEY CAN TAKE COMFORT IN THE FACT THAT MILLIONS OF THEIR FELLOW CITIZENS PRAY FOR THEM. I HOPE THEY ALSO TAKE COMFORT IN THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE SACRIFICE WAS MADE IN A NOBLE CAUSE.

The enormous hypocrisy encompassed in Bush’s statement conceals the don’t-give-a-hoot ideology whereby he deliberately took a nation to war by lies, and deliberately sent American troops to die for his acquisition of oil and military bases from which he may launch future attacks on Middle Eastern countries. He would gladly “sacrifice” ten times the number of dead American soldiers in order to achieve the neocon goals of world dominion. That’s what makes it all “worth it.”

Bush’s fake crocodile tears are only for voter consumption and to keep the cash rolling in, not to save any lives. Our soldiers are not dying for their country, they are dying for the glory and profit of Bush and his True Believer Corporate sponsors.

Soldiers have no choice but to go wherever Bush deigns to send them, but voters have the choice of booting Bush out of office by impeachment or other device. THAT will save lives, not Bush’s glorious imperial pronouncements. Any Bush remarks about “our brave soldiers” are simply designed to distract people from his vainglorious strivings.

WE’RE LAYING THE FOUNDATION OF PEACE FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.

Bush is so very wrong. We are laying the foundations of hatred and warfare for generations to come. We are laying the economic conditions of ruin for unborn generations. We are killing people for lies.

WE’RE DEFEATING THE TERRORISTS IN A PLACE LIKE IRAQ SO WE DON’T HAVE TO FACE THEM HERE AT HOME. AND, AS WELL, WE’RE SPREADING DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM TO PARTS OF THE WORLD THAT ARE DESPERATE FOR DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM.

Again, Bush is absolutely pig-headed wrong. Just because he had some playing cards made with pictures of some Muslim patriots, and is killing them one by one, he somehow thinks that his actions are so effective that no more Muslims will spring to the defense of their culture and territory. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.

Another point, WE are not spreading freedom and democracy. WE are spreading death and destruction, dictatorship by fiat, puppet regimes to do the imperial will of Bush and associates. We are spreading theft and corruption. We are spreading torture and abuse.

We are spreading arrogance by the carload. Bush may have used the words “democracy” and “freedom” in speeches but this is merely to lull voters and supporters into thinking he is a “peacemaker” a “uniter not-a-divider”, and a kindly, tolerant, patient, diplomatic, cooperative, understanding person. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

He is a destructive failure who is driving his country to bankruptcy and to hate-filled bloodshed for generations. Remember that he also used the words “9/11” about a thousand times as a distraction for the public to keep his misdeeds inviolate and his imperial cowardly glory shining for Jesus and Jerry Falwell.

THE COMMENTS BY THE NUMBER TWO MAN OF AL QAEDA MAKE IT CLEAR THAT IRAQ IS A PART OF THIS WAR ON TERROR, AND WE’RE AT WAR.

This is a favorite lie of Bush. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Iraq was not terrorizing the U.S.

The “terror” for Bush started when he sent American troops into Iraq to seize its oil and territory. The Iraq people are as patriotic as any American, and want to defend their land against the death and destruction that Bush brought, every bit as much as Americans did for the ancestors of Tony Blair. It will stop when Bush pulls his army, contractors, corporations, proselytizers, and sycophants out of Iraq. But he won’t do that because we wants the oil and the military bases, and yearns to dominate the world.

IN OTHER WORDS, HE’S SAYING, LEAVE. AS I HAVE TOLD THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, ONE, THAT PEOPLE LIKE ZAWAHIRI HAVE AN IDEOLOGY THAT IS DARK, DIM, BACKWARDS; THEY DON’T TRUST — THEY DON’T APPRECIATE WOMEN; IF YOU DON’T AGREE TO THEIR NARROW VIEW OF A RELIGION YOU’LL BE WHIPPED IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE. THAT’S THEIR VIEW, AND THEY HAVE TACTICS TO HELP SPREAD THAT VIEW. IN OTHER WORDS, THEY’VE GOT GOALS.

Yes, Bush, they’ve got goals. We’ve got goals. Everybody got goals. They think your ideology for world conquest is dark, dim and barbaric. You certainly don’t trust women, but have the biblical view that they are fit only to cook and clean your mess, and have sex on demand. The rest of the time they should shut up.

And about agreeing to a narrow view of religion. Bush, you must be kidding! Can irony, sarcasm, be more acute??

You are the quintessential True Believer, the one claiming to talk with God, the one quoting bible verses which you want to put into the constitution, the one proclaiming National Days of Prayer, the one who turned the Oval Office into a kind of Christian Chapel with whoop-de-do prayer meetings, the one who thinks every court house, every school room should have a large copy of the Ten Commandments posted. I believe anyone who has ever observed you can add hundreds of other religious pronouncements.

So, please, don’t mention “narrow view of religion.” That stinks.

THEY WANT TO SPREAD THAT POINT OF VIEW THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, STARTING IN THE BROADER MIDDLE EAST. AND PART OF THEIR GOAL IS TO DRIVE US OUT OF THE BROADER MIDDLE EAST, PRECISELY WHAT ZAWAHIRI SAID. IN OTHER WORDS, HE’S THREATENING.

Bush, you invaded a Middle East Country, not Zawahiri. You killed countless Muslims for oil and bases, not Zawahiri. You had planned to invade before you even got presidential power. You are malevolent, deceptive, secretive, dark force.

THEY HAVE COME UP AGAINST A NATION THAT, ONE, WILL DEFEND ITSELF. ZAWAHIRI IS A PART OF THAT TEAM THAT ATTACKED US ON SEPTEMBER THE 11TH, 2001. HE WAS PART OF AN AL QAEDA GROUP THAT SAID, WELL, WE’LL TRY TO ACHIEVE OUR OBJECTIVE IN ATTACKING AMERICA. THEY MUST NOT HAVE UNDERSTOOD THE NATURE OF OUR COUNTRY.

Oh, I think they understand the nature of our country under the semi-fascist secretive deceptive regime of Bush and company. They well understand the Bush objectives. Half the American people understand the brutal nature of the Bush objectives.

The other half are hypnotized by the bewildering drum beats of Bush and cabinet concerning God, flag, patriotism, gays, marriage, warfare, atom bombs, weapons of mass destruction, aluminum tubes, yellow cake, bad intentions, EVIL, pilotless planes attacking us in our sleep, deliberately terrorizing the public and turning America into a kind of bunker in which human rights are subject to your approval.

I VOWED THEN THAT WE WOULD STAY ON THE OFFENSE AGAINST THESE PEOPLE. WE OWE IT TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, AND OTHER FREEDOM-LOVING COUNTRIES, TO BRING THESE KILLERS TO JUSTICE. AND THAT’S WHAT THEY ARE: THEY’RE TERRORISTS, AND THEY’RE KILLERS. AND THEY WILL KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE TRYING TO GET US TO WITHDRAW FROM THE WORLD, SO THEY CAN IMPOSE THEIR DARK VISION ON THE WORLD. THAT’S WHAT THEY’RE TRYING TO DO. AND THE COMMENTS TODAY BY MR. ZAWAHIRI ABSOLUTELY REINFORCE WHAT I’VE JUST TOLD YOU.

Well, someone is killing somebody. Let’s see the newspapers. Oh, yes, forty more Muslims killed by American troops with cannon, grenades, helicopter missiles in an attempt to spread freedom and democracy. Yes, someone is terrorizing. Someone is battering down the doors of houses, killing women and children, hanging people up by their heels, threatening them with police dogs, whipping them, torturing them, killing them. I wonder who that could be?

WE WILL STAY THE COURSE, WE WILL COMPLETE THE JOB IN IRAQ. AND THE JOB IS THIS: WE’LL HELP THE IRAQIS DEVELOP A DEMOCRACY. THEY’RE WRITING — IN THE PROCESS OF WRITING A CONSTITUTION, WHICH WILL BE RATIFIED IN OCTOBER, AND THEN THEY WILL ELECT A PERMANENT GOVERNMENT. IT’S ALSO IMPORTANT FOR OUR CITIZENS TO UNDERSTAND THAT PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE, PARTICULARLY WHEN EIGHT-PLUS MILLION PEOPLE GOT TO VOTE IN THE FACE OF ZAWAHIRI AND SARAWAK AND THESE KILLERS.

Yes, by all means, stay the course. Stay the failed course. Stay it over and over. Make optimistic statements that any day the Iraqis will be free of your presence, and the next day say it might be in a year, or two, or three, or fifteen. Strut and swagger and have your fake journalists praise you daily.

You have brought sovereignty (even fake sovereignty) to a nation, while oppressing your own. And someday the Iraqi people will be free. After you have completely looted the country and its resources, installed your giant bases and embassy, and Millennium Corporation has exhausted all the oil and profit from Iraq.

WE’RE ALSO TRAINING IRAQIS. OUR TROOPS WILL COME HOME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. "AS SOON AS POSSIBLE" MEANS WHEN THOSE IRAQIS ARE PREPARED TO FIGHT. AS IRAQ STANDS UP, OUR COALITION WILL STAND DOWN.

Sure, Bush, even if it takes a dozen years, a hundred years. You are willing to “stay the course.” Because you have no idea what the “course” is. But we know what it is. It is total dominion of the world under White Supremacist Christian Corporate executives like Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and a hundred other fat-faced, fat-mouthed fat-headed cowardly warhawks. By the way, say HI to that fat-faced fat-butt porky Rove. I hear you are getting him out of some trouble over outing a CIA agent? Well, I hope you both get what you deserve.

THE IRAQIS WANT TO LIVE IN A FREE SOCIETY. ZAWAHIRI DOESN’T WANT THEM TO LIVE IN A FREE SOCIETY. AND THAT’S THE CLASH OF IDEOLOGIES — FREEDOM VERSUS TYRANNY. WE HAVE HAD THESE KINDS OF CLASHES BEFORE, AND WE HAVE PREVAILED. WE HAVE PREVAILED BECAUSE WE’RE RIGHT; WE HAVE PREVAILED BECAUSE WE ADHERE TO A HOPEFUL PHILOSOPHY; AND WE HAVE PREVAILED BECAUSE WE WOULD NOT FALTER.

Sure. We know you will never admit any mistake, any failure. You will never apologize for anything. You will stick to the failed stupid neocon policies come hell-or-high-water. You have blundered daily, ruining the environment, the budget, national health, drug prices, old age care, etc. and now you want to give social security to the tender care of your True Believer investment counselors.

Somehow we believe that the money will end up in their bank accounts, probably off-shore while they build factories run by slave-labor, and live happily in mansions, on yachts, and jetting around the world as happy as .. well, as happy as a hound-dog that just scratched off the last flea

Bush had a few more things to say. About applying justice, peace law, human rights, independent judiciary, and human rights. But I am overwhelmed at the torrent of misinformation, of deceptive rhetoric, of downright stupidity, so I will leave readers to fill in their view of what Bush really should have said about
