Movement Parties Governments USA

We who are on the left in America are dumbfounded (as, I suppose, are many citizens in other countries), by the indifference and apathy by a healthy percentage of our fellow countrymen when it comes to challenging the destructive politics of the Bush Administration.

I suppose it is just human nature not to focus on government actions which we feel...often correctly..we cannot change. But there is a tipping point, and I believe we’ve reached it.

On the one hand we have the zombie hoards, comprised of Right wing religious zealots, uneducated young people who don’t vote or don’t care or both, and Right wing ideologues who see the Bush ideas as profitable, either financially or from a power standpoint.

On the other we have the more aware populace who see the actions of Bush as pure evil. Our side represents about 50% of the electorate, but oddly enough we often fail to vote. Our rationalization is usually that it’s futile...that Republican operatchiks will rig votes, intimidate minorities and fix machines. Often that DOES turn out to be the case.

Our biggest and most unanswerable question is: Why do the zombies support this absolutely horrendous Administration? Is it misguided ideology? Greed?, the desire for Armageddon? (I’m not kidding!), or just the desire to be "part of the gang" and in so doing not having to think.

It’s an easy path to just let it all go. Let Bush and his puppeteers do as they please. In a way it’s the "American Way"

But in the end, if there really is an "American Dream", the zombies will have to open their eyes, get educated, get active, and take back their country.

Back to back, belly to belly...at least I can say I’ve not "done that already"

  • Zombies in the movies can’t never be restored to become human again. Those zombies sign in with the forces and die.

  • Shouldn’t that be "an unhealthy percentage"?

  • First of all, it’s not just leftists in America who hate what the neoconservatives have done to our country’s freedom and future prosperity. There are plenty of real conservatives who feel betrayed by Bush and are very angry and frustrated with their own political leadership. Go to: www.republicansforhumility.com.
Conservatives above all else believe in law and order. A President who does not even pay lip service to the checks & balances of the three branches of government as outlined in our Constitution, believing that this unjust war that he
practically invented gives him the right to run rough shod over these vital laws that are there precisely to protect the public, is far from being a protector of law and order, is more than likely a sociopath, and definitely not a conservative.
The Bush administration’s tenure does have a silver lining however: it has presented a great opportunity for Americans of all political persuasions to go beyond the moribund illusions of the Democratic-Republican party. Both parties have done very little as far as protecting the livelihood and the liberty of their main constituency, the American middle class. In a real, working democracy neither of these parties would have lasted, much like any business that doesn’t pay attention to its customers doesn’t last. It should be obvious to any intelligent person that what we have here in America is not a working democracy, merely a trillion dollar illusion created by those powerful entities who control both our Federal Government and our mass media.
But as long as the vast majority of Americans continue to watch mainstream television as their main source for information about the outside world, they will continue to be zombies as you put it. I prefer the word ’lobotomite’ to describe these creatures, for many of these Americans have deliberately and willingly negated their own reasoning faculties, their own precious curiosity and their own instincts for survival, all for the false, social comforts of belonging to a vast group-mind, no matter how much evidence has been found that this same group-mind cares nothing at all for any individual American’s life or freedom.

    • I see this current gang of thieves as brain-stemmed lizards. Reptiles are cold-blooded and have not developed past self-serving behavior. You will see more compassion out of dogs and cats than you ever will from this murderous criminal junta. They would repeal the Magna Carta if they could.
