Edito Movement Wars and conflicts USA

by Cindy Sheehan

Today started at 4am when the rain started blowing into my tent and my head and my feet started getting soaked then thunder and lightening came over my tent. I was really frightened for my life, so I abandoned ship and went into Crawford.

By the time we made our way through the floods and got into Crawford, I had a fever, sore throat, and bad headache. So I was made to rest and not have any interviews until noon.

We had a little bit of trouble with locals today. We are beginning to feel a little unwelcome here. One lady almost ran over a television crew. She screamed at us that the neighbors are really mad ...so we moved down the road to our closest neighbor who is very sweet. Her husband is a medic who just got home from Iraq.

Again, I did tons of interviews. It looks like I will be on the cover of People Magazine. Time Magazine, Vanity Fair and Oprah’s magazine will be interviewing me also.It was great having the other GSFP and MFSO there to help me with interviews and greeting all of the hundreds of people who came out from all over the country to be with us today. We were hassled by the Sheriff because there were too many cars out there. Our little Bush Town has grown to full capacity. The town Sheriff said we can put up tents and RV’s in the town stadium. There are wall to wall sleeping bags here at the Peace House.

Due to the generosity of you all, the Crawford Peace House has receives over 30,000 dollars and GSFP has received a lot of donations too. I got about 2 and a half dozen bouquets of flowers from so many people who are moved by this stand. I am so amazed and overwhelmed by the support and love we are getting from everywhere.

As for Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, Matt Drudge, etc...nothing you can say can hurt me or make me stop what we are doing. We are working for peace with justice. We are using peaceful means and the truth to do it. I guess the truth frightens people. It frightens them so much, they have to resort to telling lies to rebut my arguments. They are despicable human beings and not even worth our concern. Bill O’Reilly had the nerve to invite me on his show again today. But, Dolores Kesterson, another Gold Star Families for Peace member who also had a terrible experience with meeting George and she kicked his butt.
Tonight we are still on arrest alert...so we shall see.

Peace soon.

  • Hi my dear friend & soul sistah, Cindy,
I am praying you are feeling better and take some time to take care of YOU!!!
I find it so pathetically funny that Bush can say "Bring it on" re. the "terrorists" & "insurgents" but when you have "brought it on" he hides like a very frightened puppy, armadillo???.
He is truly a coward & unbelievably transparent. He can’t talk to you so how do you do damage control?......Launch the far-right wingnut attack dogs on you. He’s got to have someone else do his "HARD WORK".......Considering who all these sources are, that are taking things you have said completely out of context and spinning them out of control, there is no way one can take them seriously.
I’m sure the bush& co. is paying them handsomely, however....with our tax dollars. They have recently come into some very big bucks with the Energy Bill & Highway Bill. The billions going straight to them can surely pay for quite a lot of attack dogs, and I do mean dogs.
I know you have unsurpassable strength, in every way and will stay your very important course.
As you already know, you speak for the large majority of Americans as well as so many around the world!!!! The support you have is staggering!!!! I hope you feel it, know it with all your heart and it gives you added strength when you need to draw from it!
I’m trying to make arrangements to get out there.......In the meantime, I’ve been consistantly on "rally duty" here. Many hundreds of people I have contacted have donated to you & your cause, as well as, are coming out. Everyone is with you!
You are loved.....I know you will stay strong. I’m glad Celeste, Bill, Dante & others are there with you.
Sending much love & those big, hugs to you!!!!!!!!
    Stacy

  • We all grieve the loss of any soldier. Your actions, however, have now become obnoxious.

    • You are the obnoxious one and you do not give a shit about anyone except your hero that boob in the White House and the criminals he surrounds himself with.

  • What is needed is a complete multiplication of protest, a million mom march on crawford or washington we need hundreds of thousands of americans to protest in a group now to show the world about dermocracy otherwise we dont have any which is pretty much the case now. Everyone is afraid of this criminal regime controling America now led by oil corporations under Bush Cheney and Rummy. In the future despots of this nature may be held responsible for war crimes by an international tribunal, now only good old American democracy and protest will have to suffice

  • I agree thqat the loss Cindy Sheehan has suffered was tragic, but the actions she is employing are reprehensible. Let me stop and preference my comments by saying that I am not only th eson of two military parents, but am also in the military myself and will be deployed to Iraq in the near future. I do believe certain aspects of the war could have been handled differently but I believe our cause is a just one and to pull out of Iraq now would only make the tragic deaths of men like Cindy Sheehan’s son void and of no effect. The government in Iraq is not reaady to support themselves yet and we must stay and finish what we started so that we do not create a disaster worse than what there we began this mission. I might also mention the President is not my "hero" and if I personnally do not agree with a descision made I follow and comply because I respect the postion. I believe that if you do not agree with the President that is fine this is America it is allright to debate and disagree but civil disobedience and name calling is not the answer. I disagreed with it in the last administration and disagree with it now. Let me ask one Question to all of the "supporters" of Cindy Sheehan. What was her son’s name, what branch did he serve in, and when did he die? Most of the "supporters" regretably are not their because they grieve the loss they are their because their hatred and annomisity towards the President runs so deep that they grasp at any opprutunity to lash out. The same "supporters" that seem to support Cindy today are the same type that do respect the military they do not grieve they just hate.
