MANHATTAN: PHILANTHROPIST STRUCK BY CAR Andrea M. Bronfman, 60, a philanthropist and the wife of Charles R. Bronfman, of the Seagram empire, died yesterday at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell hospital after she was struck by a livery cab while walking her dog, the police said. Mrs. Bronfman, above, was crossing East 65th Street shortly before 7 a.m. when the driver made a left turn from Fifth Avenue and struck her, the police said. The driver’s identity was not released by the police, who said that an investigation was under way. Mrs. Bronfman was a co-chairman of the Andrea and Charles Bronfman Philanthropies. United Jewish Communities said that a memorial service would be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, 257 West 88th Street.AL BAKER (NYT)

What do you think about this coincidence: On election morning in Canada the richest man in Canada found his wife killed. No charges. She was killed by a taxi driver. A quick search will lead you to the fact that many cabs and cab drivers in New York are actually police officers. But I digress, welcome to the land of coincidence. Personally I think it was a wet job but that’s me.

as you know I consider heart attacks and car accidents to be the signature style of Canadian wet jobs like the time on Sept. 11/2001 when the Pakistan ambassador to Canada was murdered via a car accident in Ottawa...hmmm

  • As of 2005, Bronfman was Cnada’s 7th richest, at $2.8 billion. Chicken scraps, and hardly a player in Canadian politics/finance. Why would they kill his wife? The Bronfman empire was destroyed by Edgar, and they have all kept out of the public eye since, mainly due to shame, I would guess. Can you come up with any reasons why anyone would want to do away with her?

  • Well there is paranoia and there is a paranoia. Like they never run over a pedestrian in New York before. Look both ways before you cross, just to be sure though.

  • If you really believe the Bronfmans are only the 7th richest in Canada, that’s very unlikely you will believe anything from a coincidence. Do you believe Bill Gates is the richest in the world? billions that’s peanuts...
