Attack-Terrorism USA

NEW YORK Half of all Americans, exactly 50%, now say the Bush administration deliberately misled Americans about whether Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, the Gallup Organization reported this morning.

"This is the highest percentage that Gallup has found on this measure since the question was first asked in late May 2003," the pollsters observed. "At that time, 31% said the administration deliberately misled Americans. This sentiment has gradually increased over time, to 39% in July 2003, 43% in January/February 2004, and 47% in October 2004."

Also, according to the latest poll, more than half of Americans, 54%, disapprove of the way President Bush is handling the situation in Iraq, while 43% approve. In early February, Americans were more evenly divided on the way Bush was handling the situation in Iraq, with 50% approving and 48% disapproving.

Last week Gallup reported that 53% now believe that the U.S. invasion of Iraq was "not worth it." But Frank Newport, editor in chief at Gallup, recalled today that although a majority of the public began to think the Vietnam war was a mistake in the summer of 1968, the United States did not pull out of Vietnam for more than five years, after thousands of more American lives were lost.

  • I have yet to meet a person that didn’t think something was up.

  • Gallup is a fanatical right wing outfit, I wouldn’t believe their made up numbers about anything. They make up the numbers to suit their own agenda. The 50% thing is their favorite, they never have to give "their guy" a real blow by giving 50% this or 50% that thereby never affirming the fact that it is probably more like 80% know Bush has and is still cooking the intelligence.

    • Let’s do our own poll:

How many of you think we’re getting a royal screwing from Bushco???

    • Gallup tended to be about 12 points more favorable to Bush than other polling outfits in the runup to the 2000 election. So I just adjust Gallup numbers by about 12% to guess what the numbers really were.

  • I agree, if the polls say 50% know he lied it’s probably around 75%!!
This man who calls himself President is becoming more and more hated every day and he is too ignorant to know it!

    • Poll:
How many of you think Bush would care IF he knew he is despised by most of the world?

    • So there are at least half of the people in this country who are such dumb assclowns that they still believe Bush’s lying bullshit.....

    • My 90-year-old mother finally "got it" that there were no wmds found in Iraq. But she still thinks we discovered where they’d been, and that they’d been moved hastily before the war. She doesn’t believe me when I try to tell her differently because she thinks a) our government wouldn’t lie to us and b) a Good Christian man like Bush certainly wouldn’t lie. I’ll bet there are a LOT of people out there just like that. They live in a red state with only rightwing media, and she’s blind so can’t read for herself. Not that she’d get anything but rightwing stuff from the local paper. And she wouldn’t know how to use a computer even if she COULD see.

    • Except, well, hate to break it to you, but they did find WMDs.

    • You should get a v chip for your parent’s t.v., when people get really old they tend to turn into children again, and it is up to the adult children to protect their old parents from the garbage that is on MSM. People who can still think and care about their parents should monitor what they watch, they need protection from the fake news and tabloid t,v, that makes them worry and fret.

    • Fool, if they found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, you can bet it would get 24/7/365 t.v. coverage. You are either a complete fool (probably) or you are one of those paid propaganda trolls we have been hearing about and are warning others about like the ones who keep going on the internet to tell us all how Saddam Hussein attacked the world trade towers on 9/11.

    • Hey there 129...... Where the hell have you been for the past couple of years? "They did find WMD’s" has got to rank as the most ill informed comment I’ve heard since the last bush apologist wrote something on this site. Let’s just try again eh? There were no WMD full stop. None, nada, nil. Not a trace, not a kiddies chemistry set, nothing. Have you got that? Nothing. No chemical, no biological and definitely no nuclear weapons of any kind. How can people repeat such crap when the entire world knows otherwise? Face it - you were lied to.
