Bush knocked down the towers of New York. Invented the one of the “terrorism” to wage war and to give contracts to the companies of its group. Bush wants to make an empire world-wide. It is the true devil.

I say we vote Chavez into the WH, that is if he would lower himself to take the job.

Thanks for the link. I was searching for this speech for over an hour in English. Its not in the UN’s official site. (remarked N/A ) Non of the search-engines have directed me to Counterpunch, but instead to Bloomberg, Forbes, and New York Daily News and othe similar rags. (I kid you not.) Then, I remembered Bellaciao...
The speech itself is a very good one, as it is now expected from Chavez. It combines, reason and passion with humor and wit. It’s like a glass of fresh water you taste, in an oasis in the middle of the desert. God bless this man and all who helping him to defend the oppressed, the weak and the poor, from the rapacious and the vile.

I can see I am a minority on this site, but I was appalled by Chavez speech. Kofi Annan should publicly rebuke Chavez for his behavior. You CANNOT allow demonizing and name-calling at the UN. Where does it end? India can do it to Pakistan. Ethiopians can do it to Somalia, North and South Korea can do it to each other. There are bitter rivals all over the world, but the UN is the one place where differences are to be set aside in the interests of working together for a better world. Chavez turned it into Romper Room.

I totally agree, Chavez’s "devil" calling was most definitely uncalled for. However, I agree with his basic idea that the U.S. has some issues. Dig??
