Invitation to event - Planning and the Mayor’s London Food strategy

I would like to invite you to a one day event looking at how plannning can help the Mayor’s London Food Strategy deliver better health, social inclusion and more sustainable communities.
The event will be held at City Hall on 19th September 2005. It will:
– introduce the London Food Strategy and explain how the strategy will affect planners
– expore the practical links between planning, health, social inclusion and sustainable communities
– provide practical case studies
– provide hands-on workshops for you to tell us what should be in the strategy
– assist RTPI members with their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements
Speakers include:
– John Lett, Strategic Planning Manager at the GLA
– Kath Dalmeny will be reporting on findings from a London Development Agency study about how planning can help tackle food access problems in low-income communities
– David Glasson from the London Food Board will chair the event
