Video: Activists Want Law to Require 365 Days Notice of Eviction

On Feb. 23, 2009, activists held a press conference, rally and protest, at 4:15 PM, in front of Baltimore’s City Hall. They are seeking support for a City Council Bill, No. 09-0289, which will be introduced at the City Council meeting later this evening. The Bill, if passed into law, will require a 365 days notice of eviction on foreclosures. The measure is being championed by City Council members Bill Henry (D-4) and Mary Pat Clarke (D-14), among others. The group, “Network to Stop Foreclosure and Evictions,” is seeking to make Baltimore, MD, a “Foreclosure and Eviction Free Zone.” For more background on this social justice cause, see:
