On Tuesday evening, Dec. 1, 2009, a spirited antiwar rally was held in front of the White House, led by activists from the ANSWER Coalition, Code Pink, and other Peace and Justice groups. Its purpose was to object to President Barack Obama’s reckless decision, (shades of LBJ’s disastrous Vietnam fiasco), to “expand the war in Afghanistan.” For some historical perspective on how the “unwarranted influence” of the powerful Military-Industrial Complex continues to dominate American society, check out: http://www.thepeoplesvoice.org/cgi-bin/blogs/voices.php/2008/04/10/p24695#more24695 Also, instead of repeatedly taking bum advice from his hawkish Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, aka “The Rahminator,” President Obama should read George Santayana. The philosopher warned: “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
