Bush Denies Iowa Tornado Relief
June 16, 2006; 10:17 PM EDT

IOWA CITY, IA - President Bush has denied Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack’s request for federal disaster aid to parts of the state that were hit by severe tornadoes in April.

Vilsack says he’s extremely disappointed in the president. He requested help for Jones, Muscatine and Johnson Counties.

Iowa City was one of the worst-hit areas. The storms killed one person and caused tens of millions of dollars in damage.

Vilsack says he’s asking Homeland Security and an Emergency Management Division to help get loans to affected business owners.

  • Get used to more stories like this NOT being reported in the MSM. The fascists are secure in their power. Instead of teaching you kids the three R’s, teach them to shoot straight.

  • The voted for this leader, too bad. But on the other hand they get an amendment banning gay marriage. The next time the Iowians might be forced to eat that, if their crops fail to grow.
