Black Civic Groups Having D.C. Vigil Urging Vote to Renew Voting Rights Act

A broad coalition of civil rights groups will gather
Wednesday evening on Capitol Hill for an "urgent call
to action" to pressure the U.S. Congress to stop
stalling and vote on the renewal of the 1965 Voting
Rights Act.
Black leaders say because congressional lawmakers have
delayed voting on the re-authorization of the Voting
Rights Act, many black Americans could find their right
to vote in jeopardy.
"We are urging Congress to take action now," Melanie
Campbell, executive director of the National Coalition
of Black Civic Participation, told BlackAmericaWeb.com.
"We need to push our [congressional] leadership to vote
on this issue."
The vigil, which will be held at 6 p.m. on Capitol Hill
in front of the Longworth House Office Building, has
the support of a number of black civil rights
organizations, including the NAACP, the National Urban
League and the Southern Christian Leadership
Conference.
Charles Steele, the president of the SCLC, says the
United States faces "a civil rights crisis" if Congress
does not renew the Voting Rights Act, which helps
protect minorities from measures that would restrict
their right to vote.
Steele declared that the nation is "at a crossroads" in
regards to providing equal opportunities to minorities.
"We can see the progress that minorities have made
during the social, economic and political
transformation over the last 30 years," Steele said in
a statement. "But the conservative political climate is
threatening to turn back the clock, end the progress
and create a new wave of resentment and hatred towards
minorities."

FEAR is the factor that drives greed. For the positive attraction of something is the equal to the negative repulsion of it inverse. The inverse of strong greed is a almost unconciounable FEAR of REALITY.
For in greed you can hide your identity and become something OTHER than yourself - a ghost of something that is a shell but an unreal self that seeks to present itself as the REAL human being.
This is the weakness of the RICH and the RACISTS - they fear that others will discover that under the FACADE that they are no better or less than anything or anyone else. For we are in reality a living COLLECTIVE and without a FUNCTIONING human collective to each HIS OWN we would fall.
As our strength has come from our ablities to unite - but our collective FEAR of self acknowledgement of our power and respect for our great diversity has created a fear that controls almost all of our minds. This is now begining to die. It is part of our collective mind control of our selves and from this generation the children are infact almost becoming psychic detecting this FEAR and working to eliminate it.
Within a few more generations their will be no poor - no rich - no better - no worse — their will only be the ONE - together - as it really is.
Let go of your SELF and see that others are also just you as you are them.
