- Robert Dziekanski - Vancouver, Canada - Oct. 14, 2007
- Quilem Registre - Montreal, Canada - Oct. 17, 2007
- Jarrel Gray - Frederick, Maryland - Nov. 18, 2007
- Christian Allen - Jacksonville, Florida - Nov. 18, 2007
- Jesse Saenz - Albuquerque, New Mexico - Nov. 18, 2007
- Unidentifed Man - Jacksonville, Florida - Nov. 20. 2007
- Howard Hyde - Halifax, Nova Scotia - Nov. 22, 2007
- Robert Knipstrom - British Columbia, Canada - Nov. 24, 2007

A few months ago I posted the following story: ‘The difference between Animals and Monsters’. In this post, I told of a dear friend, who is working on a book about the Holocaust, trying to explain to me the difference between animals and monsters. Specifically, how it is possible that members of a species can be allowed to perform atrocious acts on certain segments of its populace, while those that they govern turn a blind eye to what is happening.

He told me that it is inaccurate to compare such beings to animals. Animals do not take pleasure in torturing and killing their own kind, or members of any other species for that matter. Animals kill out of immediate fear or necessity. And when the deed is done they continue on with their existence without seeking vengeance with indignation.

I listened, agreed, and tried to envision and understand his words. However, I did not fully grasp what was being said until some time later. Until I came across two videos that made me understand what my friend was so patiently trying to explain to me.

These videos convey the difference between animals and monsters better then any words could ever accomplish. It was after watching these two videos in there entirety, that I fully understood what my dear friend meant by stating ‘that beings who commit such horrendous acts as witnessed during World War II should not be referred to as animals. It is an insult to the Animal Kingdom to categorize them as anything other then Monsters.’

I have linked the videos below:

Up to this point I have refrained from posting the video from the death of Robert Dziekanski, however considering that seven more people have been murdered by police since that incident, I now feel that it is necessary to post the video below. Maybe by witnessing a murder we will feel obligated to force our governments to ban the use of Tasers and prosecute those who have used them indiscreetly. Keep in mind that the RCMP refused to remove Robert Dziekanski handcuffs even after he was dead, and that all nine people listed above died in this manner.

  • "Animals do not take pleasure in torturing and killing their own kind, or members of any other species for that matter."

You must be some kind of city dweller. Have you never seen a cat when it catches a mouse, or a bird? I understand that the stimulation of adrenalin improves the flavour of the meat, so the pleasure may not be immediate, like as in the cat saying "I just love making this mouse live in terror", but after eating the mouse, it kind of rubs its belly and says "Did that mouse taste good? I’m so glad I took the time to marinate it in adrenalin."

Now people like David Icke may say our leaders are like lizards, but what does he know; he’s only a footballer. Our leaders are more like cat-people.

  • Of course, when some law officer tells you what to do, you should just say "Yes sir!" "No Sir!" and "I refuse to say anything without my lawyer present!".

If you get lippy with a cop, and start screaming and swearing at him/her, you are going to get whatever you deserve. And you don’t fly into a foreign country, where you can’t speak the language, without either a phrase-book, or an interpreter, or having made arrangements to be met by one. What do you seriously expect the cops to do, when he is getting angry and screaming at people like some kind of mad man?

  • And, it is also my opinion that when somebody like you starts acting like a self-appointed Judge and Jury by accusing the police of "murder" you are far exceeding any journalistic integrity, and if BellaCiao have any sense, they will delete this article so that they don’t find themselves facing legal action.

Maybe that lippy student would have preferred it if the cops slapped him around with their truncheons? I sure would have, the rude, ignorant, and arrogant. spoilt little rich kid.

  • And hey, while I have sympathy for the people of Iraq, for being the innocent victims of American foreign policies, I must admit that I do get a perverse delight in watching those who elected him getting tasered. I guess there must be a little bit of cat in all of us.

In short, while I empathise with your problem, it must remain your problem, and I cannot allow it to become my problem. Tough luck Yank! You voted Bush in, or as you appear to be Canadian, tough luck, it must suck living on the front-line.

    • some good points, especially the cat one :) ... however, you should look further into the case before passing judgment on the man from Poland that got killed in Vancouver ... someone was there to meet him, customs kept him at the airport for 9 hours or so, and there were many other issues ...

the policed didn’t just kill him, they committed murder ...

    • Who says the police committed murder? In a democracy, covered by the rule of law, any person is presumed innocent, until proven guilty in a court of law, in front of a judge, and a jury consisting of twelve of his peers. That is the rule that governs civilised society, that keeps our nations safe, and that law has to be applied at all times, even for people you don’t like. Any country that chooses the path of vengeance without trial has entered the gateway to mob-rule and anarchy.

Just because Amerikkka chose to take the path of vengeance, does not mean that we in Europe need to follow suit. That is their problem, not ours, but while I do wish to state that I empathise with all Canadians who are now living on the front-line, it is also important that you must not follow the Amerikkkan way, for your own peace of mind. Her Majesty would be so ashamed to see Her Subjects resorting to mob-rule like those uncivilised Amerikkkans. It is your duty to set them a good example and make Her Majesty proud of you.

    • Here is a speech to help you maintain that stiff upper lip in the face of adversity, Canadian.
