Paintings for Peace & Planet - making a Hole in the Lying Mainstream Media Wall of Silence

The most blatantly unreported reality in the Orwellian World of 2008 is entrenched LYING by commission and omission by Mainstream media, politicians and academics. Yet Humanity seems unable to breach a Hole in the Mainstream Wall of Silence.

There is horribly unjustified mass slaughter (avoidable deaths associated with the 1990-2008 Bush Wars now total 9-11 million; see “9-11 excuse for global genocide. The real 9-11 atrocity: 9-11 million dead in Bush Wars”: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/251... ); the biosphere is under acute threat from man-made global warming and Climate Emergency with the Arctic melting and mass species extinctions (for details see the Climate Emergency Fact Sheets of the Yarra Valley Climate Action Group: http://sites.google.com/site/yarrav... ); and now we have the Wall Street crash and the global financial meltdown (see ““Swan Lake” painting. Yet the Mainstream media LYING continues – worsening the threat to the World. In this essay I argue that since Words have failed in this Orwellian World of Mainstream LYING, can ART help to save Humanity?

According to the American Society for the Advancement of Science, the most acute threats facing Humanity are nuclear, greenhouse and poverty threats. In short, 6.6 billion people are threatened with nuclear annihilation; top UK climate scientist Dr James Lovelock FRS estimates that over 6 billion people will perish this century due to unaddressed global warming from man-made greenhouse gas pollution; and 16 million people already die avoidably every year from deprivation and deprivation-exacerbated disease (see: “Body Count. Major nations threaten each other with nuclear annihilation. The World is acutely threatened by the consequences of man-made (anthropogenic) global warming, specifically loss of the glaciers and weather patterns that feed the great rivers (most notably in Asia); potential changes to major weather patterns such as the monsoons; loss of agricultural productivity; and huge threat to mega-delta regions from storm surges due to global warming and sea level rises (see “Jane Austen and the Black Hole of British History. What can decent people do? The fundamental answer is to INFORM OTHERS! I have summarized below the contribution from merely ONE little person out of 6.6 billion.
