Obama’s Cairo Speech to Muslims - pro-war lies, slies, holocaust denial & "no we can’t"

Religions-Beliefs Governments USA

President Obama’s 4 June 2009 Cairo Speech to the Muslim World was a dishonest, hypocritical, pro-war, pro-Zionist travesty of lies, slies (spin-based untruths) and holocaust denial amounting to a de facto "no we can’t offend the Zionists" (see “Obama’s Speech to the Muslim World. Zionist spin and Orwellian holocaust denial”: on MWC News: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/310... .

Up to the 1930s American involvement in the Muslim World was through business and attendant diplomacy apart from military involvement against Barbary pirates in the early 19th century (First Barbary War 1801-1805: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_... and the Second Barbary War, 1815: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second... ).

Various American Barbary Treaties were signed in the period 1795-1836 including treaties with Algeria, Tunis, Tripoli and Morocco, including the 1796 Treaty of Tripoli that US President Obama alluded to in his 4 June 2009 Cairo Speech to the Muslim World: “I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America’s story. The first nation to recognize my country was Morocco. In signing the Treaty of Tripoli in 1796, our second President John Adams wrote, "The United States has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Muslims." And since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States. They have fought in our wars, served in government, stood for civil rights, started businesses, taught at our Universities, excelled in our sports arenas, won Nobel Prizes, built our tallest building, and lit the Olympic Torch. And when the first Muslim-American was recently elected to Congress, he took the oath to defend our Constitution using the same Holy Koran that one of our Founding Fathers – Thomas Jefferson – kept in his personal library” (for the transcript of Obama’s Cairo Speech see: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/04/u... ) .

However the Anglo-French dismantling of the Ottoman Empire in World War 1 and the exploitation of oil in Iran (petroleum has been Iran’s largest industry since the 1920s: http://www.globalsecurity.org/milit... ) changed the nature of American involvement in the Muslim World.

The Anglo-French Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916 to carve up the Arab world utterly betrayed Arabs as did the Balfour Declaration of 1917 (that according to leading Jewish historian Professor Sir Martin Gilbert was issued in an attempt to get Zionist support for continued Russian involvement in WW1; see Sir Martin Gilbert, “First World War 1”, p373).

The discovery of oil in Bahrain (subject to Iranian territorial claims) by the Americans in 1932 led to American prospecting for oil in Saudi Arabia and subsequent major discovery of oil Saudi Arabia in 1938 (see Saudi Aramco: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_... ). Middle East oil became a cornerstone of US foreign policy (for a detailed analysis see Professor Noam Chomsky’s article “Imminent crises – threats and opportunities”: http://monthlyreview.org/0607nc.htm ; for the history of oil, US interests, the rise of Nazism and World War 2 see Aarons, M. & Loftus, J.(1997), The Secret War Against the Jews. How Western Espionage Betrayed the Jewish People (Mandarin, Melbourne) and Ben Aris and Duncan Campbell, “How Bush’s grandfather helped Hitler’s rise to power”, September 2004: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/200... ).

US violence, occupation, devastation and ethnic cleansing of the Muslim World was to quickly follow in addition to that already imposed by other Western nations for several centuries..

American troops returned to the Muslim World in 1942, landing in Moroccan ports on November 8 1942 under the command of General Patton; by 1944 US ally Britain agreed to Partition of Palestine between Jewish immigrants (only 30% of the Palestine population in 1942) and the Indigenous Palestinians; and by 1948 US- and UK-backed Zionist terrorists had seized 78% of the Holy Land and expelled 800,000 Indigenous Palestinians from their homes (Jews were only about 35% of the Palestine population in 1946: http://www.mideastweb.org/palpop.htm ).

In 1953 the US CIA organized the overthrow of democracy in Iran and the deal with the British involved American entry into the Iranian oil industry in return for the return of the British oil interests nationalized by the Mossadegh Government (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_I...) .

This major US crime against humanity was actually finally admitted by President Obama in his 4 June 2009 Cairo Speech to the Muslim World: “This issue has been a source of tension between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran. For many years, Iran has defined itself in part by its opposition to my country, and there is indeed a tumultuous history between us. In the middle of the Cold War, the United States played a role in the overthrow of a democratically-elected Iranian government. Since the Islamic Revolution, Iran has played a role in acts of hostage-taking and violence against U.S. troops and civilians. This history is well known. Rather than remain trapped in the past, I have made it clear to Iran’s leaders and people that my country is prepared to move forward. The question, now, is not what Iran is against, but rather what future it wants to build” (see: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/04/u... ).

In 1956 America actually intervened diplomatically to halt the Anglo-French-Israeli invasion of Egypt at the same time as the Soviet Union was brutally subjugating Hungary. However after the 1967 Israeli conquest of all of the Holy Land (plus, either then or later, seizure of massive slabs of Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt) the US finally became the major “protector” of -based Apartheid Israel - notwithstanding the cold-blooded Israeli murder of 34 US servicemen and the wounding of 171 more in the cowardly attack on the USS Liberty in international waters: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Li... ).

This transition in US attitude from relatively mild, pro-Zionist, anti-Arab anti-Semitism to virulent, violent and genocidal anti-Arab anti-Semitism and Islamophobia followed assassination of Robert Kennedy on 5 June 1968, very likely through Apartheid Israel and the US effectively holding the assassin Sirhan Sirhan’s immediate and wider Palestinian family hostage – the so-called “Rommel Scenario” in which General Rommel committed suicide under threat to his family by the Nazi Gestapo . Read the eye-witness testimony of Rommel’s death by his son Manfred: “"Come outside with me,” he said in a tight voice. We went into my room. “I have just had to tell your mother,” he began slowly, “that I shall be dead in a quarter of an hour.” He was calm as he continued: ’To die by the hand of one’s own people is hard. But the house is surrounded and Hitler is charging me with high treason.” ““In view of my services in Africa,”” he quoted sarcastically, “I am to have the chance of dying by poison. The two generals have brought it with them. It’s fatal in three seconds. If I accept, none of the usual steps will be taken against my family, that is against you. They will also leave my staff alone.” “Do you believe it?” I interrupted. “Yes,” he replied. “I believe it. It is very much in their interest to see that the affair does not come out into the open. By the way, I have been charged to put you under a promise of the strictest silence. If a single word of this comes out, they will no longer feel themselves bound by the agreement.”” (see “The forced suicide of Field Marshall Rommel, 1944”: http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/... ). Sirhan Sirhan retracted his courtroom confession, denied any memory of the event and has remained silent ever since (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirhan... ).

Whatever the ultimate responsibility for the assassination of Robert Kennedy, it is notable that prior to the assassination of Robert Kennedy on 5 June 1968 the US did not oppose the UN Security Council Resolution 252 (passed 2 weeks earlier on 21 May 1968) – however after the death of Robert Kennedy US policy hardened to resolute backing of continuing Israeli Occupation.

It is timely to remember the text of the 1968 UN Security Council Resolution 252 that has been flagrantly violated by the US and Apartheid Israel for over 40 years.
“The Security Council,
Recalling General Assembly resolutions 2253 (ES-V) of 4 July 1967 and 2254 (ES-V) of 14 July 1967,
Having considered the letter of the Permanent Representative of Jordan on the situation in Jerusalem (S/8560) and the report of the Secretary-General (S/8146),
Having heard the statements made before the Council,
Noting that since the adoption of the above-mentioned resolutions Israel has taken further measures and actions in contravention of those resolutions,
Bearing in mind the need to work for a just and lasting peace,
Reaffirming that acquisition of territory by military conquest is inadmissible,
1. Deplores the failure of Israel to comply with the General Assembly resolutions mentioned above;
2. Considers that all legislative and administrative measures and actions taken by Israel, including expropriation of land and properties thereon, which tend to change the legal status of Jerusalem are invalid and cannot change that status;
3. Urgently calls upon Israel to rescind all such measures already taken and to desist forthwith from taking any further action which tends to change the status of Jerusalem;
4. Requests the Secretary-General to report to the Security Council on the implementation of the present resolution.
Adopted at the 1426th meeting
by 13 votes to none, with 2 abstentions
(Canada and United States of America).” (see: http://www.unhcr.org/refworld/count... ).

In the subsequent 4 decades up to including Obama’s 4 June 2009 Cairo Speech to the Muslim World, the US has provided de facto military, financial and diplomatic backing for continued, de facto, illegal, highly abusive and war criminal Apartheid Israeli Occupation of the Occupied Palestinian territories and other Muslim lands. Apartheid Israeli possession of nuclear weapons from circa 1967 (now an estimated 200) and the steadily increasing power of the traitorous, dual citizen, racist Zionist (RZ) Israel Lobby in the United States of America (now aka the United States of Israel) has meant that the US has become a dog wagged by a racist Zionist (RZ) tail – as indeed have the other Anglo countries of the Western Murdochracies.

US policy has extended from getting its “fair share” of the oil resources of Muslim lands to actual physical invasion devastation and genocide by the US or its allies in substantially Muslim lands formerly occupied by the British, French or Italian Empires, namely, in alphabetical order:

Occupied Afghanistan (only partly and then only temporarily occupied by the British Empire in the period 1857-1879; US helped overthrow pro-woman socialist government in 1978 and backed war and opium growing ever since; occupied by the US, UK, NATO and Australia since 2001 accompanied by massive restoration of the Taliban-destroyed opium industry to over 93% of world market share with the consequent opiate –related deaths of about 0.7 million people world-wide).

Occupied Cyprus (formerly British occupied; partly occupied by US-backed Turkey in 1974).

Occupied Egypt (formerly British-occupied and British hegemony until the monarchy was abolished in 1953; re-invaded by France, Britain and Israel in 1956; occupied by Apartheid Israel 1967-1979).

Occupied Iraq (formerly British–occupied from 1914 and effectively occupied until 1948; occupied by US and US Coalition in 2003; in his Cairo Speech Obama promised continued US occupation until 2012).

Occupied Jordan (formerly British-occupied until 1946; West Bank Territories seized by Apartheid Israel in 1967 and still illegally occupied).

Occupied Lebanon (formerly French-occupied until 1945; Israeli incursion in the 1960s; partly occupied by Israel 1982-2000; Israeli destruction of much of Lebanon in 2006; Shebaa Farms zone still occupied by US-backed Israel).

Occupied Palestine (formerly UK-occupied until 1948; partly ethnically cleansed in1948 by US-backed Israel; completely occupied in 1967; still completely occupied by Apartheid Israel with US backing).

Occupied Somalia (formerly occupied by the UK and Italy until 1960; occupied by US-backed Ethiopia since 2007).

Occupied Syria (formerly French-occupied until 1945; partly occupied and ethnically cleansed by US-backed Apartheid Israel from 1967 to the present; bombed by both US and Apartheid Israel in recent years).

In keeping with US policies of invading, occupying and devastating former European colonies, in Bush’s last months US troops (in addition to US robot drones) have actually invaded the NW Provinces of Pakistan – the first Anglo soldiers to invade the former British Raj since the racist British left in 1947.

Under Obama – and he has only been in power for 5 months – 2.5 million refugees have been created through his expansion of the Afghan War into Pakistan (see: http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.a... ) .

Of course this long list does not include non-Muslim countries invaded by and currently occupied and devastated by the US or its surrogates (Occupied Serbia, Occupied Haiti and Occupied Diego Garcia) or the huge list of countries variously suborned, subverted, terrorized, invaded, occupied and devastated around the world by the US and its allies since 1945 (for details see William Blum’s “Rogue State” and Gideon Polya’s “Body Count. Global avoidable mortality since 1950”: see: http://globalbodycount.blogspot.com/ and http://mwcnews.net/Gideon-Polya ).

As of April 2009, in the Occupied Palestinian, Iraqi and Afghan Territories:
1. post-invasion non-violent excess deaths total 0.3 million, 1.0 million and 3.2 million, respectively;
2. post-invasion violent deaths total about 10,000, 1.3 million and 2-4 million, respectively;
3. total post-invasion violent and non-violent excess deaths total 0.3 million, 2.3 million and 3-7 million, respectively;
4. post-invasion under-5 infant deaths total 0.2 million, 0.6 million and 2.3 million, respectively; and
5. refugees total 7 million, 5-6 million and 3-4 million, respectively.

This constitutes a Palestinian Holocaust, an Iraqi Holocaust and an Afghan Holocaust; a Palestinian Genocide, Iraqi Genocide and Afghan Genocide as defined by Article 2 of the UN Genocide Convention; and egregious war crimes due in part to Occupier war criminal non-supply of life-sustaining food and medical requisites demanded unequivocally by Articles 55 and 56 of the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. Thus the Gaza Concentration Camp has been under US-backed Israeli blockade for 2 years and according to WHO the “total annual per capita medical expenditure” permitted by the Occupiers in Occupied Iraq and Occupied Afghanistan is US$124 and US$29, respectively, as compared to US$6,714 for the US (see “Pro-Zionist Western holocaust denial”: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/298... ).

Key words missing from Obama’s cowardly, craven, dishonest, pro-Zionist Cairo Speech were Racism, Invasion & Genocide – while this pro-war, Zionist lackey defamed Muslims, selectively condemning Palestinian “violence” and alluding to “Holocaust denial”, he made NO mention of the horrendous human cost of the Zionist-promoted Palestinian Genocide, Iraqi Genocide and Afghan Genocide.

Obama is a craven lackey of the racist Zionists (RZs), the corrupt US Establishment and the US military-industrial complex. Obama could give the horribly persecuted Occupied Palestinians their freedom today if he chose to but this is yet another example of Zionist-beholden Obama’s “No we can’t”.
