On a sunny Saturday, May 1, 2010, scores of individuals participated in plays, parades and protests. They also staged “storytelling” events, which spotlighted different themes, particularly, “Human Rights.” One play was held in the historic Plaza at Baltimore’s City Hall, only blocks from the Inner Harbor. Excerpts of the play are featured in this video, along with a commentary by Ms. Diane Wittner on the purposes of the “May Day” action. United Workers, a human rights organization of social justice activists and low-wage employees, staged the day’s color-filled festivities, in associate with other like-minded progressive individuals and groups.
