The toll from fighting in Samarra has risen to five dead and eight wounded, according to Iraqi police sources.

An AFP correspondent in the city said powerful explosions rocked Samarra’s northern edge near al-Qadisiya neighbourhood starting at about 7pm (1700 GMT) on Tuesday, and mosques later urged residents to donate blood .../...

    • Is it not a shame that the militants not only kill their own people, but they mutilate them in instilling fear in the masses....this sounds just like the leaders of countries that allow women no rights whatsoever..by doing this they feel bigger....but surely if Allah is their God and he believes this is the way, then may all of you have Allah, but I think this is their created Allah because they fear women so much, they are chickens themselves....just wait, there will be no heaven, no forgiveness, and only hell to pay for people who act like animals...excuse me animals they are not that good, for people that act like Gods themselves, but are only minute pieces of dirt on the ground trying their best to survive, just wait till the squash, then you’ll be gone, and even Allah will not accept you because of your terrible deeds....may Jesus have mercy and I’m sure he will!
