On Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, the “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear” hit the National Mall, in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, Peace and Justice activists from CODEPINK were putting on a colorful Alice-in-Wonderland skit not far from the main stage of the event. It addressed some of comedian John Stewart’s recent politically naive and thoughtless remarks about the honorable work of antiwar activists in this country to end immoral and illegal wars, occupations, and torture. Medea Benjamin, co founder of CODEPINK, shared her views about Stewart’s “do nothing” attitude towards aegrerious wrongdoings and also the paramount need for the U.S. Congress “to stop funding these ‘crazy’ wars!”
