ARTISTS AND MUSICIANS AGAINST WAR (VIDEO)

by Open-Publishing - Saturday 11 June 2011

Music Wars and conflicts

We are particularly pleased that prominent artists and musicians
who have been long-time supporters of Stop the War Coalition will
be at Saturday’s Afghanistan and the War on Terror conference.
They will be leading a much anticipated session on the role of
art in the anti-war movement.

The artists include David Gentleman, whose "blood-spot" posters
and placards for our demonstrations and events have gained
worldwide renown; Peter Kennard and Cat Phillips, who among their
many iconic collages produced the classic picture of Tony Blair
photographing himself on his mobile phone against the backdrop of
Iraq in flames; and Dave Randall, lead guitarist with the group
Faithless, and the writer of the about to be released Freedom for
Palestine single (SEE http://bit.ly/iq8xqX ).
