"State Dept. believes Assad used Chemical weapons" , (Atlantic Wire 6/15/2013 ) Actually the Syrians used a rather pedestrian riot control gas OOPS One day later :" US: Syria didn’t use chemical weapons in Homs " (CNN, June 16, 2013)..... 2 ) Then on to the Syrian City of Allepo where Haaretz , of all sources, blew the lid on the rebels " Jihadists, not Assad, apparently behind reported attacks "( March 24, 2013) Oh Shit ... The victims were felled by chlorine gas and it just so happened that our sweet lovable rebels had raided Syria’s one and only chlorine factory : " Syrian militants have Access to chlorine gas : Plant Owner (Global Security Newswire " ,) 3 ) The French tried to muck up the intelligence stream exhibiting to UN inspectors soil samples they claimed proved Assad complicity in chemical gas attacks but alas the UN was not impressed in the least : " UN questions validity of French evidence of Syria’s Chemical weapons Use" (Iran Press TV June 6, 2013 ) 4 ) The US , in the personage of UN lead inspector Carla Del Ponte squarely blamed the rebels and they alone for all known chemical weapons attack :" Del Ponte says evidence Syrian rebels used sarin" (BBC News, May 6 , 2013 ) 5 ) McClatchy news service published an extensive dossier to the effect that they could find no evidence that either side used sarin gas : "Chemical weapons experts still skeptical about US claims Syria used Sarin " ( McClatchy news ,June 14, 2013 ) 6 ) Other chemical weapons experts quoted after the Ghouta attack also asserted that they had seen none of the tell tale signs of lethal exposure to sarin gas in any of the victims that expired in Ghouta 7) In the Dog ate my homework Dept . UK FM William Hague is cautioning that all that evidence implicating Assad in genocide against his people may have disappeared whilst other British sources told the London’s Independent it will be difficult , well nigh impossible , to discover direct evidence that the victims of Ghouta actually succumbed from exposure to sarin gas 8 ) Come to think of it I’m smelling gas It’s coming from the toilet stall at Westminster
