South Wales Police Face Fresh Complaint Of Fraud And Misrepresentation

by WireNews+Co - Open-Publishing - Monday 27 October 2014

Officers seconded to the Home Office/UKBA entered prison under false pretence in a scheme to bury serious complaint

As was reported by WireNews+Co in December 2010, an Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) complaint had been recorded against UKBA officer Stephen Jones (DC3594) and ’his boss’, who as it turned out was UKBA officer Stephen Evans (PS269). No action was taken and an appeal to the IPCC was denied.

After nearly 4 years, a fresh complaint has been recorded today against South Wales Police officer Evans and another officer, "Love" or more likely, "Lovejoy", who in 2010 was also working for UKBA but is now back working for South Wales Police together with officers Jones and Evans.

The fresh complaint seeks to expose the fact that on 14 December 2010 officers Lovejoy and Evans entered HMP Stafford (prison) under the guise of representing South Wales Police when they were seconded to UKBA. The officers failed to disclose that they actually worked for UKBA at the time.

The original complaint was made against UKBA officer Jones and "his boss". Despite the fact that Evans knew that he had been implicated and named as the "boss" he visited the victim who had made the complaint and claimed to be an "independent" investigator, charged with investigating the IPCC complaint.

Evans and Lovejoy (who was present) also failed to disclose that they were both working for UKBA at the time when they sought and received the agreement of the victim in the complaint to proceed under the Local Resolution process, on behalf of South Wales Police.

More on this as it develops...
