TSA can steal my frying pan but they can’t find your goddamn bomb.

In 2009 I was moving to Hawaii. I had a frying pan in my carry-on luggage because, well, I would need one. TSA stole it. I guess they would need a frying pan too – perhaps to jump out of?

I found a few numbers regarding what the TSA costs US.
$7 billion annual budget
$540,000,000.00 Baggage screening equipment
$781,201,080.00 Federal Air Marshals
$284,073,120.00 Checkpoint Security Screening Fund
$284,073,120.00 Aviation Security Capital Fund
$568,146,240.00 Transportation Security Support & Intelligence.
Millions of dollars on training.

That said, authorities DID manage to catch a fellow with playdough in his pants, and a faulty match, but they TOTALLY MISSED the guy with the machine gun AND 67 out of 70 undercover “Homeland Security” agents in possession of “banned” items.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, had the presence of mind to say this: “Something is not working."

Wow . . .

The REAL problem might be that there are no organized “terrorists” in the US. While it might be true that there ARE some isolated ass clowns out there who think that blowing shit up is “cool” - what is the price that we are willing to pay to keep C-4 out of under drawers?

15.8 million children go hungry in America every day. HALF a billion would feed them.

Just sayin’

  • I’m just about to experience this dumbass search when I fly out on Thursday. I’ve even taken, my little florist knife, that I’ve carried since I had my own flower shop, way back in 96-99, out of my make-up bag and leaving it here, afraid they might take it away. (one of the only keepsakes I still have.) I’ve made sure all of my meds, make up, lotions, etc are in the specified 3oz plastic bottles, enclosed in the specified zip lock plastic bags, placed in the specified locations of my specified size carry-on luggage. I’m wearing loose fitting clothes that can be easily scanned, patted down, or passed over with a wand. Sandals that only cover sparse areas of my feet should make them happy.
I’ve often wondered about the TSA since working at an airport for five years, which included the devastating 9/11 period, and seeing some of the least intelligent most ill equipped co-workers and other various employees, at the airport, apply for and actually be hired for this new position.
The truly capable and intelligent TSA employees are the Police Dogs. They and their handlers are the ones who should be receiving the monies that it cost to TRY and keep us safe. I’ve watched them work, AMAZING!

  • just sayin’... the ineptness of this and other tax supported administrations boggles the mind. And yet they’re doing just what they were designed for, false sense of security while lining someone’s pocket.
We as a country are FUBAR.

Was hearing on Democracy Now yesterday all the Terrorists tracked down and thwarted by NSA’s bulk spying program...Zero. Amount spent? That’s probably classified but no doubt it’s also supported by US.

Supported by US who as a people throughout our history outside of a handful of concerted efforts just can’t seem to grasp the power of unity in opposition to colonialism, oligarchy and oppression.

Good to read your thoughts again Wolf!
