Mirco Martins helping Angola children with education foundation

Recently Joao Tyipinge, the governor of Huila, spoke about the importance of private companies and other organizations to support schools and education in Angola. This was in response to the Casinos de Angola group donating educational and recreational equipment to students in the Catholica mission in Quipungo.

Tyipinge explained that these efforts not only were a social responsibility of large corporations, but also were an important way to increase sustainable development in Angola. Improving the education of young people, as well as helping them grow up to become educated workers and consumers, is vital. Otherwise, the economic power of Angola will never reach its full potential.
In addition to Casinos de Angola, there are many other groups in the private sector that are stepping up to this challenge and providing financial support and leadership. Busienssman Mirco Martins has become more and more involved with this cause as well.

In the past, Martins has helped provide financial aid to young Angolans who were trying to become professionals and get schooling overseas. As an electrical engineer who was trained in the University of Salford in the UK, Martins has always appreciated the importance of a rigorous and international education. That is why he has helped sponsor students, so that they could access better educational opportunities.

More recently, Martins has created a foundation that advances this mission on a much broader scale. Fundação Kuculá is an organization that is expanding educational opportunities for young Angolans. Though the economy is growing rapidly in Angola, there are still some populations that are do not have the economic or financial resources to provide quality schooling for talented youth. Fundação Kuculá is helping more young Angolans access high quality education while also helping them preserve their culture and values.

In addition to his education work, Martins has positively impacted local communities through his entrepreneurship and business success. In the last decade, he has helped found or establish over five different companies in Angola. As these businesses have grown, they have created job opportunities for hundreds of people, helping them better support themselves and their families.

Additionally, though much of his work focuses on Angola and the domestic market, he is gradually expanding outward. Some of these businesses are drawing in foreign investment, increasing the economic opportunities in Angola overall. This has been especially important recently as the Angola people and economy have had to rely less on oil profits and more on other types of businesses.
