Attack-Terrorism Governments Catastrophes USA

President compares hurricane and terrorism

by Jennifer Monroe

WASHINGTON, D.C. — (OfficialWire) — 09/22/05 — Well, it was bound to happen. In the face of incoming Hurricane Rita, George W. Bush on Wednesday linked the American response to terrorism and its response to Hurricane Katrina, declaring that the United States is emerging a stronger nation from both challenges, and saying that terrorists look at the storm’s devastation "and wish they had caused it."

Congress MUST invoke Section 4 of the 25th Amendment of the Constitution immediately. The president of the United States is insane.

During a speech, at a luncheon for the ’Republican Jewish Coalition’, his statements appeared to be part of a White House strategy to restore the false appearance of a ’strong leader’ once-enjoyed by Bush after the September 11 attacks. But until the speech on Wednesday, he managed to somehow kept the issues of terrorism, Iraq and the hurricane separate.

It’s time for the remaining sane members of our government to act now, to remove Bush, and begin the process of recovery, for America’s sake.

  • Typical rantings of a delusional drunk. Unfortunately, the only thing that will make Americans change is when it costs $200 to fill up their SUVs with petrol.

    • Vilifying George W will gain nobody nothin. He ain’t listening. He’s a sober-drunk. He is myopic, and the national goal of his myopism is to emhance capitalism because monery is power. If enhancing capitalism is insane, so be it.

Jay Martin Bennett. The Amerasian, A Minority O’ne Report- Clearly, the founding father’s moral compass has been replaced by the floundering son’s spinning top.

  • The real problem is what do we do after we get rid of Bush. The rank order then gives us Cheney, followed by Dennis Hastert, followed by Bill Frist, followed by Condoleezza Rice. I see no light at the end of the tunnel. All Americans are getting what some of us asked for.

    • Bush should not be impeached. He’s easily the least competent of the four people in line behind him (well, between Hastert, Frist and Rice, it’s a close call). He is a collosal ass hole, nevertheless. The current Repubicans in Congress are the biggest morons ever elected to office in the history of our nation, followed closely by the Dems. Our leaders are garbage, pure and simple, and should not be followed or even listened to. They’re the biggest threat to freedom in the US, not terrorism or China or any other bogeymen the neocons can dream up.

    • Not to worry about Cheney. He’ll die soon enough.

    • I agree that impeaching Bush would not improve things much and that the real problem are the spineless wonders in congress. These invertebrates are supposed to be a check on the president. it’s obvious they are not. Apparently, demagoguery and a two-party system is not sufficient to prevent fascism and despotism from taking root in America.

    • The articles of impeachment that have been drafted by the impeach Bush movement headed by Ramsey Clark includes much of the executive branch, so Bush, Cheney and Rice would all be gone. I would be willing to take our chances with Hastert and Frist (or does Denny boy get to select his VP?) in the caretaker role. The Repugnants would be seriously weakened, and their disasterous agenda compromised. A fist step back towards sanity.

  • The terrorists look at the hurricane and say ’how can we make it worse?-oh I know let’s have FEMA take all the emergencies supplies and stop everyone from helping’

Remember Bush’s quote "They never stop thinking of new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we"

Bush must be impeached. It is the job of congress(as if they have been doing their jobs) to follow the constitution which requires the impeachment of George W for high crimes. I doubt there has ever been a time more appropriate. Next comes Cheney, he too is impeached and sent to the Hague. Congress needs to come to an immediate halt on naming post offices, and start doing their freaking jobs! Hassert, Frist, Condi...all criminals. It should be easy to hold them accountable as well. If there is no accountability, they have nothing to fear and will keep going to Iran, Venezuela etc. Congress can shut down the executive branch until another election (minus the electronic voting machines) can be held and sign onto the ICC themselves. There is no time to screw around anymore. These people are dangerous. How many more people must die?

If congress does not do something soon, they will be responsible for the armed revolution that is sure to come. The American people can only take so much abuse.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable"
    JFK

  • "Sane members of our government"?!? Excuse me?

    • The full quote is "remaining sane members" and so I ask you are there any? If not, then we are well-and-truly-screwed. I suspect we can find one.

  • I am not defending the president but this time it must be said the president is much closer to being right than for anyone to think he is insane for his statement that the terrorist wish they created the storm.

They did not wish it---they prayed for it—and in their minds—Allah answered their prayers.

During the second year of the war in Saudi Arabia in the summer it snowed. More than ’just news’ it was seen throughout the middle east as an omen based on the Iraq war—as if Allah was sending them a warning of things to come.

During Katrina, recalling the snow in the Middle East, I knew before I read about it that Katrina would be seen as a prayer answered by Allah, and indeed, that is how the Middle East sees it.

They are not taking into consideration that New Orleans was built in the 1800’s, and over a century the rising water, plus New Orleans was and still is sinking. They are not taking into account that in New Orleans a person can look up and see ships in water because it is 1 foot below sea level. They are not even taking into account it is our hurricane season and like the rest of the world we are seeing weather never seen before---like their snow in the desert in the summer no less.

None of that matters to them.

They believe it is their god seeking the vengeance they have prayed for, and in that sense, it is even ominous that they feel this way given the president’s state is now under weather attack.

I have ’heard’ many whites online talking about the ’goodness of God’ killing blacks in New Orleans and how grateful they are. Is it so hard to believe the Middle East sees this as an attack on the US from THEIR god?

This is not about nor should be considered a reason to believe the president is insane. This is about understanding another society’s culture. The Middle East truly believes Allah is attacking us, and when a man will blow himself up for his god, he will believe his god owns the weather.

And that is why I believe they track our weather better than we do because we see weather conditions but they are watching their god at work.

    • I think Rita is gonna have a little word with Bush in Crawford, personally.

    • "And that is why I believe they track our weather better than we do because we see weather conditions but they are watching their god at work.

      By A Butterscotch Dream"

I guess Bush isn’t the only one who is insane. Or maybe just simple minded.

    • As are American fundementalists who believe THEY are seeing THEIR god at work in the actions of G.W.B.

    • mr butterscotch, the middle east and what they think is hardly the point, they are not responsable for Katrina or Rita, George Bush and co. were reponsable for the disastrous response to the New Orleans tragedy, deliberate negligence on the part of `God´ like the ranters on the internet believe. FEMA and the rest are the issue. America has a long history of genocidal racism (first with the native Indians, and then with slavery and poverty with its African population). Remember the authors of the constitution were all slave owners. Even Lincoln supported the theft of Indian land at any cost. Unfortunately the crazies who occupy the whitehouse today, whether through simple ignorance or shameful arrogance, are not at all interested in hiding the truths about America’s history, they think it all rght and proper. Real Americans, those who believe in the America that has yet to exist, should concentrate on what needs to be done in America, so that one day soon (for the sake of the planet) she will be fit to live out the true meaning of her destiny,as a wise man once said.

  • I am not so sure that I would characterize Bush as insane because I think that would be an insult to insane people. One only needs to look at the completely inappropriate remark he made upon arrival in New Orleans, LA after Katrina had passed. He made a reference to the good times he had, "...in his younger days..." in front of television news cameras. The man obviously does not have the intelligence to know when to keep his mouth closed so that something stupid doesn’t escape. One must wonder where Karl Rove was at the time...probably sneering to his underlings about some "liberal" journalist.

Bush comparing the hurricane(s) to acts of terrorism leads me to believe that Dubya and his boys are preparing to invade some island in Fiji as a retaliation. Think about it, the response to the cowardly attacks on the World Trade Centers was to invade Iraq. Of course there was not then nor is there now any connection between Iraq and the terrorists but facts are not something this criminally stupid man worries about.

Anyone who studies business knows that nepotism (uh, dubya? That means hiring relatives or relatives of friends...) is not a good business practice. I KNOW Harvard Business school did not teach him that practice, but then who is to say he actually went to Harvard for anything other than drinking and snorting coke?

Bush has made America the laughing stock of the entire world and in the process slaughtered countless Iraqi men, women, and children. And has wasted the lives of thousands of American soldiers in the process. God help us all.

    • As more and more Americans realize what an ass hole Bush is, he is becoming more and more hated by the citizens here. I am sure if it was not for the 500 people who protect him, someone would have put a bullet in his head a long time ago. The only thing we citizens can do is to throw the whole bunch of them out...I for one intend to switch parties for the primary and vote against the republican incumbents, then I will vote democrat in the general, also voting against the incumbents. If everyone who hates Bushco and the republican lites in the senate and congress would do this, we could clean house of the maggots that "represent" us.

    • If only. I have an article prepared for the day, "Free At Last, Free At Last, Thank God Almighty, We Are Free At Last!" Impeachment without the bullshit. It only takes one bullet.

    • You couldn’t get near him if you wanted to...however, if someone could get a random sample of Big Boss’s blood, it would reveal cocaine. If America found out their president was still a coke freak, they would demand his resignation....his doctors know that he is a coke freak, but they also know they can never go public about it....Laura knows too, but of course she is just a Stepford wife....his coke dealer knows too, but he needs the money, so he won’t squeal. Any low level employee of the government is subject to random drug testing, yet the highest employee can snort coke day and night to the point of total insanity and everyone pretends they do not know it or covers up for him....when he is found out, which he will be, everyone will say , oh we didn’t know he was out of his mind on coke, we just thought he was over zealous, or gee I thought him falling down all of the time was because he was drunk, or clumsey....

    • Come on Rice..do them dicklords. Ah, sorry, just goin a little insane. Actually it would make a great five minute spectacle. God help my thoughts. A handful of shits like this to cause so much carbon related molecular sixsixsixish pain. Ah the duality but where’s the yin dude. Give in and face up. Looks like the god you know will do that in the end and we all know exactly where he’ll be sending yahs. Gravity.

    • neo cons are a bunch of cowards. chicken hawks rich kids. I say start taking them out one by one with a bullet to their heads. Start with their fearless leader

  • The ’Republican Jewish Coalition’ ??! We are truly lost.
