My girlfriend’s safe deposit box is gone. The bank stated that they moved to a different format regarding their physical deposit box vaults. When she went to access her box, it was empty. The bank said they had to drill the lock when they moved the box, as they could not contact her. Regardless, she was paid up through next year for the box. She had over 40K in jewelry and other items, including her passport. The bank insists it was empty. Farmers & Merchants Bank will not cooperate, and state that there is nothing they can do, or are they even willing to do. I was born here (white), but my girlfriend is from Tehran. Could this be related to the above article? Is there anything we can do?
