Who cares about Cheney’s shooting episode when our privacy and rights are in dire jeopardy? Feingold is rightfully outraged. The nearly signed and sealed Patriot Act states our government can obtain sensitive business records of innocent, law-abiding Americans without even having suspicions of a link to suspected terrorists or spies or their activities.
You have to read what Feingold says —the lack of limitations, secrecy and gag orders are quite frightening.
To further convince you we have a near dictatorship, Feingold says: "it appears the Majority Leader is planning to prevent Senators from offering and getting votes on amendments to the bill." Unbelievable! This administration won the 2000 election by intimidation and force. Soon all their methods will be legitimized.
If the Constitution is just a piece of paper, I suspect the two term limit for the executive branch will become obsolete in 2008.
