> 10-year-old boy prisoner of Guantanamo Bay — found innocent after two years of detainment

The plan is nearing completion, 220.178. Wait, wait. Catastrophe awaits on us all. We must learn to ride even the most monstrous of waves out to their completion, until they crashingly bottom out. And we must learn quickly, before the deep plunge.

Divide and conquer works this way; misinformation, lies, twisted half-truths are given to one side, and the opposite information, often just as inaccurate as the first, is fed to the other side. Result: Since neither side bothers to make a critical analysis on the information they have obtained, such as finding out about its veracity, asking crucial questions such as ’is the information logically consistent with most of what we know of the real world?’ or ’who has the most to gain from the course of action advocated by this argument?’ questions that the majority of us don’t have trouble asking when we are in a business meeting, but apparently do when discussing far more serious matters, such as the fate of the world; since no one bothers to ask critical questions such as these, all that remains as possible courses of action for most blogsters are the ridiculous name calling tactics, insults, unfunny one-liners, and out & out rude behavior found rampant and unchecked in most ’political’ blog-holes. Most of these blogsters exhibit through their writing behavior most of us would never even think of doing in public, out in the real world, for fear of having our noses broken our being shot.

This is the major reason why I like to respond to comments posted on blogs long after the article has been published. Most blog writers rarely if ever go back to an old article to see if anyone else has posted a response to their often uncivilized & rancid comments.
The Blog-universe is a virtual wasteland of vicious comments and postings, a giant desert of recriminations and lambastings, never to be visited again by their writers after only a week or two of their verbal jousts. I sometimes feel like a large bird of prey when I go back to a very old posting, with a whole world to feast on, with hardly a predator in sight. I have no qualms when I dive into an attack, since most of my prey are barbarically ignorant and incredibly stupid writers one would never wish meeting in the real world. And to drive another important point home; just because an article is more than 2 or 3 weeks old doesn’t mean that it no longer is topical or valid. I have found many two or three year old articles that are more informative and insightful than the majority of the articles I’ve read in the last 3 weeks. And to top it all off, I have the last word, at least so far, 100% of the time. Winner, winner, gets chicken dinner.
But I digress, which is of course, my prerogative.
How to disable this method of attack, this ancient tactic of divide and conquer, older by the way, than Caesar, a tactic that remains a favorite with all those who wield power? We must learn to use your own intellect, not just in school or at our jobs, but even more importantly applying this gift to vital issues that are affecting our world, relying on our own powerful minds to reason and work things out. We must do your own homework, find out more about other cultures, find out more about ourselves, learn to revel in our wonder and curiosity about the miraculous nature of existence itself. We are living in a time where a great deal of knowledge and information is at our fingertips, we no longer have any excuses not to be the best human beings we can possibly be, not here in America.
Our ancestors did not have any of the information technologies that most Americans have at their disposal. To be an ignorant American in the early 21st Century is to be an intellectually lazy American, a person who ultimately does not deserve to have freedom, security nor prosperity. To be an intellectually lazy American is to be a pawn for those in power. People who live in fear through their own ignorance are the most susceptible to the divide and conquer tactic. People who live in fear through their own lack of curiosity are the most gullible and therefore the most easily controlled by entities more powerful than they. To be free, one must be able to think clearly & quickly, without support if need be. To be free one must learn to be guided by certainty, logic, and the truth, one’s own moral code, and not by individuals, especially if those individuals have displayed logical inconsistencies, lack of honesty and lack of integrity in their past. You can have all the money and power in the world, but if in the final analysis, if you cannot think independently on your own, you are no freer than the poor wretches in Guantanamo Bay. Your prison may be far more pleasant, but pretty prisons are still prisons, since someone other than yourself holds the key to your destiny.
