> IRAQ : U.S. Military There are no plans to leave Iraq. By Dahr Jamail

100 batallions! These people can’t do arithmetic, and (rightly) expect that their audience won’t be able to, either. 100 batallions of 500 each is 50,000. Iraq has a population of 26M. About 1/6 will be men (no women!) able to fight, so we are talking 4M men. Call it 5M. Divided by 50K is 100. So one in every hundred adult Iraqi men, according to the general, is a US-trained soldier in the Iraqi army. Not a chance.
