Yeah, the governments in the South of Germany want nuclear powerplants, but not in their vicinity. They want to force it to be built in other regions the so called underdeveloped regions in Germany. Also the waste should go some where else.
Switzerland is not a good neighbour, they already place a nuclear power plant across the border with Germany just at the banks of the river Rhine. It is pretty scary if you drive through the Black Forest and all the sudden you go down in the river vally and see the huge steam cloud from a nuclear power plant. They had incidents in Switzerland, too. But it seems to be worth for somebody to have nuclear power and die of cancer.
