– Manila, 4 dic. (Ap) - Un marine statunitense è stato condannato oggi a 40 anni di carcere per aver stuprato una donna filippina. Altri tre militari statunitensi sono stati assolti. Una donna filippina di 23 anni, conosciuta come "Nicole", ha accusato il caporale Daniel Smith di averla aggredita sessualmente mentre lei era ubriaca lo scorso 1 novembre. Mentre il caporale compiva l’aggressione, gli altri tre commilitoni lo incoraggiavano, secondo l’accusa. Smith, 21 anni, di St. Louis (Missouri) ha dichiarato che la donna era consenziente, ma è stato riconosciuto colpevole. Gli altri tre marines hanno confermato la circostanza e sono stati assolti.
