Today let us take the sad, sordid case of one George W. Bush. Our president. Love him or hate him, it was he and he alone who decided that our mighty armies should travel to Iraq and kill tens of thousands of people, most of whom were guilty of nothing more than being there.
Like egomaniacal rulers forever, dating back to the cave, Mr. Bush demonized the people he wanted to kill. They have "weapons of mass destruction," he asserted. Yeah, like we don’t. Like India (...)

It was a Maalox moment for Donald Rumsfeld. At a forum held with U.S. troops in Kuwait who are headed to Iraq, the barrage of friendly fire soon scored a direct hit when a scout with the Tennessee National Guard, one Specialist Thomas Wilson, rose, and, his voice confident and clear but with an undertone of bafflement, asked:
"We’ve had troops in Iraq for coming up on three years and we’ve always staged here out of Kuwait. Now why do we soldiers have to dig through (...) -

UNICEF has just released its annual report, which reveals most shocking figures. Almost one billion children all over the world are denied at least one of seven commodities deemed essential: shelter, water, sanitation, schooling, information, healthcare and food. At least 640 million children lack adequate shelter, while 140 million have never been to school. Safe water is something that 400 million children are denied while 500 million live without basic (...) -

There are those who ask us why we march with the Palestinians. Why do we raise the Palestinian flag? Why do we support the Palestinian cause?
“You are Jews!” they tell us. "What are you doing?"
And our response is very simple:
It is precisely because we are Jews that we march with the Palestinians and raise their flag!
It is precisely because we are Jews that we demand that the Palestinian peoples be returned to their homes and properties!
Yes, in our (...) -

Beyond Neverland: What to do AFTER we’ve deposed of GWB Hook

3 commentsBy Jane Stillwater No, I’m not identifying with Peter Pan these days because America has become NeverNeverLand. I identify with Peter Pan because I’m just a little guy up against the Prince of Darkness. "Jane! Don’t you know that all your efforts aren’t doing any good? You are just one little person up against a 100-trillion-dollar mob. Give it up!" Never. I’ll just think happy thoughts, cover myself with pixie dust and keep dreaming of a better world. If accepting (...)

"I believe I served my country honorably," says Specialist E-4 David W. Qualls:
"Even though I did not expect to be rotated to Iraq, I did my time and served to the best of my ability. And I was proud to serve. But the Army made an agreement with me and I expected them to honor it. Iraq is a very dangerous place and I have a family to support. I did what I said I would; it’s only fair that the Army do the same."
Qualls and seven unidentified plaintiffs have filed a (...) -
