The US is insolvent. There is simply no way for our national bills to be paid under current levels of taxation and promised benefits. Our federal deficits alone now total more than 400% of GDP.

Walk the halls of Congress with Gold Star Families for Peace. Lets let the 110th congress know what is expected of them from Day 1. We will be insisting that an immediate exit stradegy from Iraq be implemented. We will be insisting that hearings begin immediately into Bushco’s crimes against humanity and the lies told to the American people. We will demand IMPEACHMENT.

A letter to the editor
Dear Editor: A year ago in our community, there was a sense of resignation, hopelessness and frustration when impeachment of President Bush was discussed. "How I wish we could do that, but it is impossible, Republicans are in control of everything" and "It can never happen - why bother?" were standard exhortations.

Dollar will continue to depreciate December 15, 2006.
At the end of last month, the US dollar against the Euro depreciated to its lowest in the last 20 months on the New York Foreign Exchange Market, while the dollar against the British pound depreciated to the lowest in 14 years. I think we should give our Congress a ‘Christmas in Iraq’ by visiting them this Christmas season and giving them a Christmas like the Iraqis and our troops are experiencing. Show up at their local offices with pictures of the carnage they helped create. Visit their homes with a crowd, signs and read the stories of the reality in Iraq over a loudspeaker. Why should they enjoy a peaceful holiday while they are still ruining the lives of so many? >

Bruce Fein reminds me of Jerry Lewis playing Professor Julius Kelp in the 1963 comedy classic The Nutty Professor. Intellectually astute and quick-witted, Fein, like Lewis as Kelp, is underestimated because of his peculiar style.
But the stakes are too high to dismiss Fein simply for being didactic or eccentric. In fact, he’s breaking conservative rank to defend our Constitution.
